Biography

Salathiel Bale was born in 1747, and baptised on 4 March 1747 at Alwington in Devon. He was the son of Salathiel and Elizabeth.

On 20 May 1770, Salathiel married Elizabeth Barry at Alwington in Devon. The record says that they were both sojourners in this parish. Salathiel and Elizabeth had two children, John baptised in 1772 in Alwington, and Mary, baptised in January 1775, after her mother had died.

Elizabeth died in December 1774, and was buried on 17 December 1774, and the following year, Salathiel married Ann Adams on 11 September 1775 at Alwington. He was designated as a widower.

Salathiel and Ann had 14 children between 1778 and 1802.

Salathiel died in 1804 and was buried in Alwington, Devon on 2 May 1804. He was aged 56 at the time of his death.
