John Bale is first recorded living around Woolfardisworthy, Devon when he and his wife Jane had a male child in 1689/90. [1] The couple seem to have moved to Alwington, about 6 miles east, by 1711, when two of his children were buried there.
John was buried at Alwington on 20 Mar 1731 [2]
The marriage of John Bales to Jane Sanderson on 11 Feb 1683 at St Marylebone, London is thought by some researchers to be relevant. London is a long way from North Devon, and I haven't come across anything to suggest that John Bale had the means to be travelling to London to get a wife. Estimated date of birth is based probably on that record.
