Biography

I was born and lived my childhood in Hoskins St, Moss Vale. Before marriage my mother worked as a telephonist at the Moss Vale exchange. My father worked as a guard on NSW trains for over 40 years. My Dad was a good provider and worked during holidays with his cousins ‘hay carting’. I completed primary education at St Paul’s Moss Vale before commencing secondary education at The Dominican Convent, Mount St Mary’s, Elm Court. I had a great outdoorsy childhood surrounded by many cousins dominantly Burkes. Visits to Nimmitable to my grandparents , Kitty and Father Bales were not too frequent but welcomed. A highlight was always seeing Aunty Val & Uncle Bernie Buckley and more cousins dominantly Buckley's. The experiences on their farm are life long and cherished memories . My mother’s sister lived across the road from us in Hoskins St, and we saw her daily, and my mother’s Mum , Ellen. I have no recollection of my grandfather Jack Cummins due to his untimely death. I don’t have any first hand or passed on knowledge about my maternal great grandparents. My parents six children gave them 16 grandchildren from that we continue to grow and multiply on my own , I have 13 grandchildren. If this is of interest to anyone I’m glad.

Hello Paula,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and with whom you might have ancestors in common. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

Please enjoy the website and if you have any questions, let me know.

 :)
