Hi Edvardas,

Thanks for your contributions to our tree.

I see that you have been adding pre-1700 profiles tonight without an adequate source for pre-1700 profiles. Would you please review the Pre-1700 Quiz and the explanations about the sort of sources WikiTree is looking for, as well as our Help page on Sources.

Thank you!

Dave

Hi Edvardas,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If the profile needs GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi Edvardas,

I haven't heard back from you to say whether you'd like to remain in the [Wales Project and which team(s) you would like to be on. I hope you are ok. I am going to go ahead and remove you from the project right now but if you'd like to rejoin in the future you would be most welcome to do so via the G2G sign up post. Please see our project page for membership requirements.

Many thanks,

Olivia :-)

Hi Edvardas,

I left a message on your profile a week ago, checking in with you and seeing which team(s) you’d like to join in the Wales Project. I’ve not yet heard back from you, and I hope you are ok. If I don’t hear from you by this time next week, I’ll assume you’ve moved on to other things and will go ahead and remove you from the project for now but you would be most welcome to rejoin at any time.

Best wishes,

Olivia :-)

Hi Edvardas,

Thank you so much for all your contributions to WikiTree in the last six months, and especially to the Wales Project. It’s been wonderful to have you as part of the team as we work together to increase the quality and quantity of Welsh Profiles.

You don’t seem to have selected which team(s) you would like to be on. Please have a look at the project page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Wales and let me know your choices so I can introduce you to your Team Leader(s). Do you have any questions? What can we do to support you? Do you want to continue in the Wales Project moving forwards?

Please can you also private message me your e-mail so I can add you to the Google group.

I see you’re not currently on the Discord server. You’d be very welcome to join us where we have live text and voice conversations which really helps with collaboration. Just let me know and I can send you an invitation.

I look forward to hearing back from you with all the above.

Thanks once again,

Olivia, Project Coordinator for Wales :-)

Hi

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Hi Edvardas,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Hi Edvardas,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to lower the privacy on the profiles of your parents so that the connection between you and your ancestors can be seen. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. If you're already connected to the global tree, that can be pretty extensive. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, use the reply link to let me know. Have fun!

Hi Edvardas,

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?

Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back with me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.

You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

Debi ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. Did you discover that the tags (names in green boxes) on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add more, up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.

Hi Edvardas

I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have. Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Have fun collaborating on your ancestors

Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
