Biography

1776 Project
Benjamin Ball performed Patriotic Service in Virginia in the American Revolution.

Benjamin Ball, Jr. was born September 13, 1742, in St. Paul's Parish, Stafford County, Virginia, a son of Benjamin Ball, born November 18, 1719, in Christ Church Parish, Middlesex County, Virginia and his wife, Anne Owen, of that Parish. Benjamin died in 1810.[1]

About 1673, [this is a typo] Benjamin married Anna Smith McIntosh, born November 10,1748, in St Paul's Parish, Stafford county, Virginia. [2]

Benjamin was residing in Fauquier county, Virginia at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Benjamin rendered material aid to the cause of the Continental Army, for which he was reimbursed after the end of the War. [3] Benjamin is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A005387. DAR records indicate that Benjamin died before March 5, 1807, in Fauquier county, Virginia and that his wife's name was Ann. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made the the descendants of their sons, James Ball, who married Anna Claypoole; David Ball, who married Sarah MacNeal; and Benjamin Ball, III, who married Nancy Dodd; and of their daughters, Mary Ball, who married George Creel; and Clementine Ball, who married Rodham Lunsford. Note: these are all children of his double first cousin Benjamin Ball (1736-1807).[4]
