Carl Andrew Ball was born on Dec 18, 1918 in Madison County, North Carolina, United States, fourth known child of Troy Henry Ball (1886–1952) and Ida Griffin (1890–1927).[1]
In 1920, Carl (1 0/12), was a single son, in the household of his father (33), mother (28), his siblings, Ralph (7), Geneva (4 10/12), Bonnie (3 4/12) in Madison, North Carolina, United States. [2]The family was living on a farm.
By 1930, Carl's mother had passed away and the family were living with Troy's father, Andrew "Andy" Jackson Ball (66) and step mother Lottie (48). [3] Andy's house was located on State Road # 213 in Marshall, Madison, North Carolina, United States.[3] Including the already mentioned family members, Carl was living with his two older sisters, his younger sister Ally (8), and his step aunt Navada Ward. The family was still living at this residence, as indicated by the 1940 census.[4]
In 1950, Carl (32), was a single son, Farm Helper, in the household of Troy Ball (64) in Madison, North Carolina, United States. [5]
Andy died on Oct 22, 1986 in Marshall, Madison County, aged 67.[1] He was buried in Ball Cemetery, Marshall, Madison County, North Carolina.[6]
