Notes

Note NI00150
Continues:
1. For our Ball, Yeary and collateral families located in what we list as "in nearbyBoone's Path, Lee County Virginia", it should be noted that it is not a town or even a township, e.g. "Boone's Path", but the general area of southeastern Virginia made famous by Daniel Boone and the westward path past the Cumberland Mountains into Kentucky, Tennesseee and even into North Carolina. There is a Boons Path town in present day Lee County Virginia but it is not to be confused with "Boone's Path."
Our ancestors living in the "Boone's Path" area may not have only lived in Virginia but also in the immediate portions of Kentucky and Tennesseee.
And it should be noted that Lee County Virginia was formed from Russell County Virginia in 1793.
2. George's wife Kezziah and son William were killed by Indians near Abingdon Virginia -- John had hidden in a cave during the attack and was later buried in front of the cave after his death.
3. George was overseer of the main road from Flat Lick to the foot of Wallen Ridge.
