William's birth was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1887 in the Lanchester district.[1] He was the son of Herbert Ball and Sarah Ball nee Parkinson.
In the 1891 census William (age 3) was the son of Herbert Ball in Hutton Henry, Durham, England.[2] In the 1901 census William (age 13) was the son of Herbert Ball in Lanchester, Durham, England.[3]
Emigration
William left England in 1920 from Liverpool. He arrived in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in January 1921.
Notes
It may be this William Ball who, in the 1911 census (age 23, Miner coal hewer), was the married brother of Maggie Hannant in Smailes Street Stanley Durham, Stanley, Durham, England.[4]
