Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Williamson Ball was a Virginia colonist.

Williamson was married 3 times. First to FNU Glasscock, the daughter of William Glasscock and Esther Ball. They had two children. His two daughters were mentioned as the grand-daughters in the will of William Glasscock.[1][2] (The first name of FNU Glasscock was not mentioned as the will was written after her death. His grand-daughters are mentioned as the daughters of Williamson Ball)

Second he married Anne Beale on 23 Nov 1762 in Richmond County, Virginia. They had no children.

His third marriage was to Priscilla Churchill on 9 Feb 1765 in Middlesex, Virginia. Priscilla was the daughter of Hannah Harrison and Col. Armistead Churchill. She was the widow of Richard Spann in Richmond County, Virginia. They had five children together.

Note: A second Williamson Ball (son of William Ball who was the uncle of the Williamson in this profile, a brother of this Williamson's father George Ball) married Priscilla Glasscock who was also the daughter of William Glasscock and Esther Ball.

Ball-8413 and Ball-9062 appear to represent the same person because: There are a couple of Williamson Balls who married someone named Priscilla Glasscock or Glascock and they are all related. However, the one in which we are interested, Williamson Ball (1736-1790) was married three times. He married 1) Ann Beale, spinster in 1762 in Richmond County. I am not aware of any issue. There is another Ann(e) Beale (1711-1784) but she did not marry Williamson Ball, she married Cuthbert Harrison in 1772 and before that may have been married to a William (not Williamson) Ball. Williamson Ball married 2) Priscilla Glasscock, daughter of Richard Glasscock, in 1763. In less than two years he married 3) Priscilla Churchill Spann or Span, widow of Richard Span and daughter of William Churchill. This marriage brought considerable property to Ball.

Another Williamson Ball, born 1769, also married a Priscilla Glasscock (daughter of William Glasscock), These two are the same people and need to be merged
