If Samuel's second wife was actually named Sarah Deborah Farrand, and if she died in 1806, why were pension papers filed in her name for her husband -- who died in 1810? (Or were they filed on behalf of someone else, and did they merely mention Deborah?)
This work cites Deborah Plume as his second wife: The Edward Ball family of New Jersey: a study, by Claudette Maerz. p 10. Viewed online via ILL from UW-Madison, OCLC number: 34770265. call# 95-3607 (There are no pertinent dates provided.
