Nathaniel Crane Ball was born on 22 August 1813 in the state of New York. He was the son of Amzi Lewis Ball and Jane Crane. Nathaniel Crane Ball was baptized on 1 August 1818. [1] [2]

Nathaniel married Elizabeth Tomkins on December 2, 1835 in Newark, NJ. [3]

According to the "New England Ball Project", Elizabeth was the daughter of Daniel F. Tomkins. According to a Newark Directory 1836/7 referenced at the Ball Project site, there was a "Nathaniel C. Ball", painter, 35 Halsey Street at Newark, Essex Co., NJ. [7]

Nathaniel Crane Ball's Findagrave Memorial page, which can be viewed at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/145076512, states that Nathaniel died on 9 April 1873 at age 59. There is no photograph of his headstone at the site. The following additional information is posted at the site: s/o Amzi Lewis Ball (1783-1860) & Jane (nee Crane) Ball (1785-1864).

The Findagrave site states that Nathaniel died on April 9, 1873 in Essex County, New Jersey, and is buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, USA.
