Biography

Lived in England all of his life - probably in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, where he was christened on 2 April 1777. He is thought to have lived to be ninety-two years of age. He married Letitia ______ and they had at least three children:

  • Thomas Wood Ball
  • Letitia Ball, b. 1800 - she never married
  • Timothy Ball, b. 1811 - who married a minister's daughter by the name of Lizzie. She is said to have been a great painter. They did not have any children. He was a fine looking man who accidentally shot himself, while hunting, by pulling a gun through a fence.

According to christening records, there may have been three other children:

  • Sarah, b. 1802, died at 3 months
  • Mary Elizabeth, b. 1805, died at 6.5 months
  • Fanny, b. 1807, died neonataly

However, there is some possibility that these three might have been the children of another Thomas Ball.
