Extract from book ""A History of the Protestant Downeys" by Cairncross C. Downey, New York 1931: "Jackson Hawksby... married his cousin Elizabeth Ballam, September 14 1863".
(note by Richard Oliver 2021: the above book gives Elizabeth's date of birth as 1844, so she would have been aged 19 at her marriage. She was also first cousin to her husband Jackson Hawksby Jr., being the daughter of his father George Hawksby's sister Anne Jane (Hawksby) Ballam.)
