GEORGE6 BALLAM (RICHARD5, RICHARD4, JOSEPH3, ROBERT2, JOSEPH1) was born November 29, 1839 in Blandford, England, and died Abt. 1905 in USA. He married SARAH SHORT Abt. February 1862 in Weymouth District, England. She was born April 1840 in Dorchester, England, and died Abt. 1910 in USA.

Notes for GEORGE BALLAM:

The 1871 British Census found George (31) employed as a malster labourer and living in Weymouth (Dorset) with his wife Sarah (30) and their children Sarah (8), Richard (5), William (3) and Elizabeth (1).

George and his family emigrated to the USA in 1875.

The 1880 US Census found George (40) farming in Fairlee (Vermont) with his wife Sarah (29) and their children Sarah (16), Richard (14), William (12), Elizabeth (10), Rosanna (8), Mara (6), Florence (4), Catherine (2) and Ella (1).

The 1900 US Census found George (61) farming in Grafton (New Hampshire) with his wife Sarah (60) and their children Catherine (22), Ella (21), Thomas (18), Nellie (16) and Annie (14).

Notes for SARAH SHORT:

The 1910 US Census found Sarah (70) widowed and living in Laconia City (New Hampshire) with her daughter Ella (31) and her family. Her daughter Nellie (25) also lived with them.
