He was noted as born 1899 in Arkansas and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head William L Ballard, wife Lensie Ballard, daughter Fannie Ballard, son (daughter) Nellie Ballard, daughter Dena Ballard, daughter Thelma Ballard, daughter Vera Ballard, stepdaughter Lillie Tidwell, stepdaughter Dessie Tidwell and stepdaughter Myrtis Henry.[2]
