My dad's line was Grey - down from Arthur and Sybilla Morrison, his Grays in America married with the Hailes/Hales in England and then many times in the line of Rose Bond Hale (through Bohun) and my 4th gt. grandparents are Nicholas IV Hale and Ruth Acre. But it began way back with Alice Hayle in Hertfordshire. Mother's line are the Ballards, her father was William Patterson Ballard who married Romanza McGinnis. I am struggling to get it all down, thank goodness for FTDNA, impossible otherwise. I've got our Greys clear back to Castellia in Spain, and in the early 1900's our family farm here in Oregon was next to the Spain family's farm. I still have a few acres of the Gray land and one field is called the Spain field". They came from Carrabus Co., NC or SC. (John Gray and Drucilla Spain.) I have such high DNA matches with the Bellingham's I think I have one of the Gray lines down to Elizabeth Jarret/Wm. Gray, as the Foljambes and Bellinghams all have high DNA matches. I have Richardson kin I see often. Sometimes I have senior lunch (like yesterday) with Ardyth Gorham, down from Jabez Gorham....John Gray married Hannah Sturgis (Gorham after John died)... and here are 200+ years later, down the line together, I just had to share this with you, because your efforts and work mean so much to those of us who are searching, searching to fill in the void spots. Thank you. (Curious if you are in England or US?). I thank you. Judy Gray Johnson in LaGrande, OR., where they came in their wagon trains.
