- When Catherine Amy “Amy” Ballard was born in 1740 in North Carolina, her father, Robert, was 19, and her mother, Anne, was 24.
- She married Matthew Duty and they had 12 children together. She and Matthew are listed as parents of Sara Duty in the Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. V.[1]
She then married Robert Seymour on January 28, 1784.[2]
- She died in 1839 in her hometown at the impressive age of 99.
