Siegfried von Ballenstedt, born about 1075, was the son of Adalbert von Ballenstedt and his wife Adelheid von Weimar. He was adopted by his stepfather Pfalzgraf Heinrich von Laach and succeeded in 1095 as Siegfried, Pfalzgraf von Lothringen. He succeeded as Graf von Orlamünde, presumably on the death of his mother in 1100[1].
He married Gertrud von Northeim, daughter of Heinrich Graf von Northeim before 27 August 1111, and had issue:
He was killed in battle on 3 September 1113 and buried at Springirsbach[1].
