Arrived in St. John in 1783 aboard the ship Otter. Settled on one of four lots that had previously been granted to a British naval officer who had willed it to his son, also a naval officer. Both were named Captain William Pawlett. However, the property was escheated and given to a group of 4 Loyalists including William after their newspaper advertisements seeking the original owner, that ran for 3 weeks in local newspapers, received no reply. Sadly for Captain Pawlett, he did arrive on the scene shortly after that to plead his case but was too late.
Settled: Scotchtown (Grand Lake), now in Canning Parish, Queens County, New Brunswick (Then part of Waterborough Parish, Kings County)
Additional daughters: Catherine, Mary, Margaret and Magdalene. Unable to find more information on their lives. All mentioned in probate record.
