BALZER, Herman F.

Funeral services were held for Herman F. Balzer Saturday, April 18 at Henneke Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Eschberger officiating.

Burial was at Brune Cemetery in Shaws Bend.

Herman F. Balzer was born August 10, 1905 in Shaws Bend to William Balzer and Caroline Ahlgrim Balzer. He married Clara M. Linder-Skarke August 18, 1947.

Survivors include his widow, Clara, a daughter, Herma Nell Tafelski and her husband Floyd of Pearland; a son, Bertram and his wife Martha of Pearland and a step-son, Donald Skarke and his wife Wanda of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven granddaughters, Barbara Buckler, Carolyn Skarke, Patricia Tafelski Catherine McGrady, Lauren Tafelski, Donna Tafelski and Robin Balzer; three great-grandchildren, Carolyn McGrady, Nielyn Buckler and Christopher McGrady; and a sister, Elizabeth Kansteiner of Shaws Bend.

Pallbearers were Arnold Balzer, Robert Balzer, Harvey Balzer, Marvin Horndt, James Mikulenka and Edwin Poenitzsch. The Colorado County Citizen, April 23, 1987
