Mary Bamber was christened on 20 Mar 1654 at St. Paul’s Church, Marton, Lancashire, England where her father was recorded as Thomas Bamber. She married Thomas Hardman in 1678 at St Chad, Poulton-Le-Fylde, Lancashire. They had a number of children before Thomas died and left her a widow in 1692. In 1701 she gave birth to an illegitimate child, Richard Hardman, whose father was recorded as William Hodgson Hodgson-2955 who had died a few months before Richard was born.
