Elihu served in the War of 1812 as a private in Capt. Allen Wilkinson's Company. He enlisted on January 28, 1814, and was discharged on May 26, 1814.[2]
In 1850 he was living in Greene County,Illinois with his wife Elizabeth and their younger children. Age 62. Farmer. Also in household are Samuel & Elihu Yates, possibly the sons of daughter Nancy.[3]
An Elihu Bandy, born June 9, 1788, died January 13, 1881, is buried in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Carrollton, Greene Co., Illinois. One of the comments on the memorial indicates he fought in the war of 1812.[4]
