Elias H. Bane is the son of William Jefferson Bane and Sarah (Repass) Bane.

Elias married Sophrona J. Mothena, daughter of John Mothena and Mary Ann (Barnett) Mothena.

Elias and Sophrona had the following children:

Horton J. Bane (1899 - 1972) Mary Ann Bane Sheets (1903 - 1966) Dewey H. Bane (1904 - 1985) William S Bane (1910 - 1977)

Elias and Sophrona are buried in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, in Wayne County, Indiana, where his parents are also interred.
