Edward Banfield was baptised at Wivelsfield, Sussex, on 28 May 1867. He married Clara Jane Brook at Hamsey, Sussex, on 11 June 1887. Clara died in 1904, and Edward married his second wife Alice Wakeford Gardner at Preston St Saviour, Sussex, on 7 June 1919. Edward Banfield died at about age 73, and his death was registered at Lewes, Sussex, in 1940.
