Stephen G Banker, son of Martin and Hannah Banker of New York. He moved first to Walworth County, Wisconsin and then to Richland County, Wisonsin.
Stephen married Diana Harvey 1845 at Elkhorn, Walworth, Wisconsin. Their children were Mary Lavinia (Banker) Bean, Juliette Banker, and Charles H. Banker.
Stephen Banker served in the 52nd Wisconsin Infantry, Company A from March 14, 1865 to July 28, 1865. The 52nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment served in the Union Army between April and June 28th, 1865, during the American Civil War. The regiment was organized at Madison, Wisconsin and mustered in during April, 1865.
Right away it was ordered to St. Louis, Missouri. After St. Louis, it then went to Holden, Missouri, to guard workmen on the Pacific Railroad until June 21st. The regiment was mustered out on June 28th, 1865. During its service the regiment lost nine men to disease.
Stephen became railroad man and died somewhere in the West in 1873. His remains were brought back to Cataract, Wisconsin for burial.
