Etta was born in 1861. She is the daughter of David Banks and Mary Payson. She married^[1] Spurgeon Bowlby.

Marietta Bowlby -

Kingston, Jan. 29 - There passed away at her home in Kingston Village on Friday, Jan. 24th, Marietta, widow of Spurgeon Bowlby, after a short illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Bowlby was the youngest and only surviving child of the late David and Maria Banks, and was born in Meadowvale, Annapolis County, 74 years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss, three sons and one daughter, Howard, Kenneth, Arthur and Nettie, all of Kingston Village. There are also four grandchildren, Marietta, Arthur, Mona and Phyllis Bowlby. Mrs. Bowlby has been a member of the Baptist church since her girlhood days, and her sweet, christian character has made her beloved by all who knew her. The funeral service, held at her late home, was conducted by Rev. J.B. Daggett assisted by Rev. J.J. Sidey and Rev. C.W. Cook. The burial service at the family lot in the Tremont Cemetery, was conducted by Rev. J.J. Sidey.
