Biography

Samuel Banks was born in Van Diemen's Land (1826-1856)

Birth

In April 1843 Samuel Banks was born in Hobart Town, Van Diemans Land, the oldest of the six children of Samuel Banks, a comvict who had been transported for larceny and who worked as a labourer in the Colony, and Ann Cooper.

Marriage

In 1868 Samuel married Annie Ruth Bradburn. They lived in the town of Kingston, south of Hobar

Samuel Banks died in 1905 and was interred at St Clement Church cemetery, 100 Beach Rd Kingston, Tasmania, Australia.

Apr 1843: Born in Hobart Town, Van Diemans Land, the son of Samuel Banks and Ann Cooper. [2][1][3] Samuel's father, also Samuel, was a labourer who, as a convict, was transported to Van Diemens Land for larceny.[2]

1 Sep 1868: Samuel, who worked as a labourer, married Annie Ruth Bradburn in Kingston, Colony of Tasmania.[1][2][4][5]

1890: Birth of son Rupert Bradburn Parks [2]

1905: Employment: 27 years employment by WT and JT Firth, Middlewood.[6] This would appear to be William Taylor Firth, farmer, who lived at Brown's River and who almost certainly gave his name to the present area of Firthside, just North of the intersection between the Huon Highway and the Southern Outlet[7]

27 Oct 1905: Died at Kingston, Tasmania, Australia. He was buried a few days later at St Clements Church, Kingston.[8][9]

1905: Interred at St Clements Anglican cemetery, Kingston, Tasmania , 100 Beach Rd Kingston, Tasmania, Australia[10]
