Biography

Wanda was born in 1926[1]. In 1948, she married Frank[2]. She died in 2019[1]. Her obituary[3] notes:

It is with sadness that the family of Wanda Alice Bezanson, age 92, of Kingston, announce her passing on February 15, 2019 in Northwood Manor. Born in Torbrook Mines, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret (Hatt) Banks. Wanda began her teaching career in Torbrook Mines in 1954, teaching 42 students from grade primary to 12 in a one room schoolhouse. In 1948, she married the love her life, Frank, and travelled with him around Canada in Air Force postings. As a couple, they loved to dance and play cards with friends and family. They returned to their beloved Annapolis Valley in 1953. Wanda had many accomplishments. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved gardening and interior decorating. She was a long-time member of the Rebekkah’s and Kingston United Baptist Church. She enjoyed summers, fishing, picking blueberries, strawberries and mayflowers as well as going to Frenchy’s. Wanda was a talented singer and participated in skits and presentations at senior’s homes. Her biggest pride in life was her loving family. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Stephen Manson (Lorraine); daughter, Wanda Joy (Michael) Lynch; grandchildren, Vivian, Maggie, and Stevie Bezanson (Jenny). She was predeceased by husband, Frank, in 1993; brothers, Neil and Vaughan; and sisters, Vera, Rita, Florence, and Pansy. Cremation has taken place under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford (902-835-4212). The Celebration of Life and Interment will take place in Torbrook Mines in the Spring. A small service in Wanda’s memory will be held on Thursday, February 28th, at 10 a.m. in Northwood Manor, 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Northwood Manor for all their loving care. Also, our most heartfelt gratitude to George and Colleen Lynch of Dartmouth.
