On 1 June 1870, William Banning age 11 was living in Wilmington, Los Angeles, California with his father Phineas age 40, step mother Mary H age 24, and two brothers Joseph B age 8 and Hancock age 5. There were three dormestic servents Kate Hopkins age 30, Mary Richards age 50 and Luiesa Bowman age 12.[3]

Living with his father, step mother Mary, Two brothers Joseph age 18 and Hancock age 15. As well as two half sisters Mary H age 9 and Lucy age 4.There was four people employed for this family.Wallace Packard age 28 who was a coachman and three servents Charlie Ah age 20,Hong ?? age 35 and Anna Donahoe age 26.[4]
In 1892 he purchased Catalina Island along with his brothers for the sum of $128,740.
In 1900, William Banning age 40 was living at 416 North Broadway in Los Angeles Ward 2, Los Angeles, California. Was living in the home of his brother Hancock age 35, his wife Annie O age 28, there three children Hancock age 8, Eleanor A age 6 and George H age 5.also living in the home is hancock's sister in law Susie G Patton age 35 and father in law George H Smith age 62. There were four servents Isaiah Robinson age 19, Abbie Mapes age 59, Elizabeth Fox age 30 and Bessie Murphy age 36.[5]

On 25 Apr 1923, William Banning age 63 was issued a passport while living in Los Angeles, California.[8]
On 29 Jul 1924 at age 65, William Banning arrived in New York, New York from Southampton aboard the Olympic along with a William P Banning.[9]
He was interviewed in a 1930 film discussing "Old West" stagecoach driving.[10]
In 1930, Wm Banning age 71 was living on LA Paidma Rd in San Jose, Los Angeles, California. He owned the home valued at 600 dollars. He owned a Transportation Business 4x8 V.[11]
He died on 27 Jan 1946 at 1:52 AM in his home located at 526 North McCadden Place.[1][12][13] in Los Angeles Los Angeles County California . He was 87 Yrs, 3 months and 8 days old at time of death.
Was buried 29 Jan 1946 in the inglewood Park Cemetery,[14] the plot is located in the Miramar Section. The Cause of death is listed as Heart Feilure with High Blood Pressure as a Contrib Factor.[12]
