In 1861, 6 year old Thomas is living with his parents in 26 Peel Street, Wolverhampton[2]
In 1871, 16 year old Thomas is living in 4 Raglan Place with his parents. He is working as a tinplate worker[3]
25 year old Mary Shepherd, daughter of Samuel Shepherd, married 22 year old Thomas Bannister, son of Thomas Bannister, on May 1st 1876 in Worfield[4][5]
In 1881, 26 year old Thomas is living in Oak Street, Wolverhampton with his wife and young children[6]. He is working as a tin and ironplate worker.
In 1891, 36 year old Thomas is living in 69 Oak Street with his family and working as an iron worker[7]
In 1901, "56" (sic) year old Thomas is living in 5 Cardiff Street, Wolverhampton with his family where is working as an iron plater[8]
In 1911, 56 year old Thomas is living in 47 Manlove Street, Wolverhampton with his wife and some of his adult children.[9]. He is working as an iron plate worker.
There were two Thomas Bannisters born in Wolverhampton around the same time, this one born in 1854 confirmed by the baptism record and a second born in 1856. One of the Thomas's died in 1915[10] and the second died in 1923[11]

Research Notes
In 1911, 5 month old Ellen May Bannister, Thomas's granddaughter, is staying with them. There is no indication of the parents, although it is possibly Albert George who has been married, but is already a widower after 1 year (did his wife die in childbirth?).
