Jemima Jane "Jemma" Bannister was born on the 13th November 1872, in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, England, the sixth child, third daughter of Joseph Bannister and his wife Hannah Law, with the event being registered in the 4th Quarter at Dudley.[1]
She married Arthur Barnsley in 1903, with the event being registered in the 2nd Quarter at Stourbridge,[2] subsequently having four children, a daughter, and three sons, two of the babies not living past their third birthday:

Jemima (Bannister) Barnsley migrated from Staffordshire, England to Pennsylvania, United States.
Arthur having gone ahead, Jemma (32), a dressmaker, and the two boys, aged 11 and 9-years, took ship aboard the Carmania in 1906, departing from Liverpool, England, and arriving in New York, New York, on the 20th September 1906. Their final destination was given as Westport Street, "Newcastle", Pennsylvania (actually New Castle).[3]
Jemima Jane "Jemma" Barnsley née Bannister passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage, on the 31st March 1960, in New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 87 years,[4] and was laid to rest in Castle View Memorial Gardens, New Castle.[5]
