Mob. mb I:44b-1
December 21, 1761
One ban published; dispensed with two.
Jacques Milon, native of Mobile, armorer for the king, son of (Henry) Joseph Milon and Marie (Francoise) Girardy.
Julie Hüet, daughter of Henriette Hüet, widow of Baptiste Bideau (Bidaut).1
Witnesses signing: Widow Bidaut (Henriette Hüet); (Maurice) Millon;2 (Gabriel dit) Montelimart, which one not known; d-v-r, possibly Duver; Auguste Langlox (Langlois?);3 -an- (Yantz? Jans?) üllnipf ngy.4
1. Julie Hüet's deceased stepfather, Jean Baptiste Bidaut, had married Henriette Hüet in 1748.
2. The groom's brother. He was then twenty years old.
3. Possibly a cousin. The groom's aunt, Marie Louise Girardy, was the widow of Louis Langlois when she married Charles Lorreins dit Tarascon.
4. Named as Jean Auly Egue in 1762 (Mob. bb I:216), the name appears as Jean Auly on other records (Mob. bb I:209, 239). The name may be Slavic. It is possible that "Hans Willerips" was the transcription of his name in 1764. See Albert Tate, Jr. "The French in Mobile," New Orleans Genesis, XXII (July, 1983), 265-268. Church records indicate friendship with Francois Collin (Colin) and his wife, Mrie Francoise Zyeisbach (also Wuisbac, Visbac), and with Pierre Hely, whose wife may have been the widow of Francois Collin. Mob. bb I:194, 209, 216, 224, 231, 239.
