Edward J. Barbeau, well known resident of the First ward, died Wednesday night at 10 o'clock at the family home, 24 Governor street, following several weeks of failing health.
Mr. Barbeau was born in Oswego, the son of the late John and Mary Barbeau. For more than 40 years he was employed at the Standard Oil Box Company, serving as foreman the greater part of that time.
He retired on pension some years ago. Of a quiet home loving disposition, Mr Barbeaus' life was marked by devotion to those near and dear to him and among his friends he was held in the very highest regard. He was a member of St. Marys church and of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are two sisters, Misses Anna L. and Olive M. Barbeau, three brothers, George P., and Charles Barbeau of Oswego and Robert Barbeau of Los Angeles, Calif.

The funeral of Edward J. Barbeau, son of the late John and Mary Barbeau was held from the family home, 24 Governor street, at 9 o'clock Saturday morning and at St. Marys church at 9:30. Burial was made in the family plot at St. Peters cemetery.
