" Attorney Andre J. Barbeau, 89, died September 15, 2017 at Catholic Medical Center surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born in Manchester on November 1, 1927, the son of Dr. Alexandre and Domina (Noury) Barbeau.
He was an active alumnus and graduate of College of the Holy Cross, Class of 1949, as well as Boston College Law School, Class of 1954.
He was an attorney in the Legal Department for the State of New Hampshire, Division of Employment Security.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Henry J. Sweeney Post 2 American Legion.
He was a parishioner of Parish of the Transfiguration, and held membership in the New England Train Collectors Association, and the Men's Cribbage League of Chez Vachon.
He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan, but most of all he had a great enthusiasm for his Lionel train collection.
Both Andre and his wife, Denise enjoyed many winters in Estero, FL.
He was predeceased by his wife, Denise (Brabant) Barbeau, and an infant son, Paul Barbeau.
Family members include four sons, Richard Barbeau and his wife, Suzanne of Goffstown, Pierre Barbeau of Mesa, AZ, Philip Barbeau and Kathy Chevrette of Manchester, Denis Barbeau and his wife, Amy of Nottingham; one daughter, Louise Leahy and her husband, Andrew of Durham; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Nicole, Michelle, Sean, Morgan, Erin, Leila, Ethan; two great-grandchildren, Grant, Miller; two sisters, Adele Holden of Shrewsbury, MA, Suzanne Mercier and her husband, Dr. George Mercier of Auburn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, David Barbeau.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 3 to 6 p.m. at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester, NH.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley Street, Manchester, NH.
Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum."[3]
