When Patience Barber was born on September 17, 1689, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, her father, James, was 37, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 30. She married John Cole on January 27, 1710, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. They had nine children in 25 years. She died in 1735 in Swansea, Massachusetts, at the age of 46.
