In a Bible held by Family Search there is a record written by Charlotte Neal Pettigrew, member of Manhattan Chapter D.A.R. She writes "Elisha Barber, born May 31, 1758, served in the Revolutionary Army. I visited his grave in the old burying ground in Sherborn. It is marked by the Sons of the American Revolution." [5] There are a number of records of Elisha's service in the Revolutionary War, including on July 15, 1776, [6] November 1, 1776 (for one month and 3 days), [7] June 5, 1780 [8] and July 20, 1780 [9]
Elisha appears in the 1790 [10], 1800 [11], and 1810 [12] Census records in Sherborn.
Elisha died in Sherborn on February 11, 1814 in Sherborn and is buried there in the South Sherborn Cemetery. [13]
