Biography

Born about 1849 in Illinois, USA.

14 Nov 1850 I belive Isaac to be listed with his parents, the cooper Elias and his wife Lydida?, living in Havana Township, Mason Couty, Illinois.[1] His age is hard to read, because it was corrected, but I think it could mean 2 years.

  • Elias Barber (32 years, male, cooper, born in Ohio)
  • Lydida Barber (20 years, female, born in Pennsylvania)
  • Isaac Barber (2? years, male, born in Illinois)
  • William Shelly (22 years, male, cooper, born in Illinois)

I wasn't able to locate Isaac and his family in 1860 yet. If you have information please share!

11 Jul 1869 Isaac (son of Elias Barker? and Ledida) marries Sarah Garner (daughter of John A. Garner) marries Note: here stated as Isac T. Barker. I am very sure it is actually Isaac Barber, but don't have the original to check if misspelled[2]

I could not locate Isaac and his wife Sarah in 1870 yet. If you have infos please share!

1 Jun 1875 I assume this to be Isaac and his family, who is listed in Waterloo, Grant County, Wisconsin.[3] The family consists of two males (Isaac and their son George) and two females (Sarah and their daughter Adaline). I can't be sure though if it is really them, since there is no other information given in this census.

What happened to Isaac after 1875 is still a mystery and I would love to find out more details. This is what I assume could have happened: Isaac and Sarah decided to move west to find luck and good fortune as Nebraska pioneers, but on the way there or soon after getting to Nebraska, Isaac passed away. Sarah got remarried to Phil Howell about 1878/1879. If you have more infos, please contact me
