Hi, Katheryn - Stephen Barber was my maternal 4th GGF thru his son Gideon Solomon Barber. Gideon & his family were boarders at the home of my 2nd GGF, Luman Kniffen. Luman took a shine to Gideon's daughter, Harriet, and started a common-law family with her in 1859. Quite the scandal in its time. Perhaps you can add me to your "trusted" list and I'll link Stephen as Gideon's father? Thanks...
