Biography

John's parents are unknown. He is possibly related to this Samuel Barber.

Barbers in Tithe Applotment books in County Wexford[1] It is unknown if or how he is related to any of these Barbers.

John Barber and Elizabeth Swain were married in the Diocese of Ossory in 1834[2]

Griffith's Valuation[3] says that a John Barber was living next to an Anne Swayne in Milehouse, Monart, Wexford, Ireland. It is likely he was this John Barber. Exactly how Anne was related to him is presently unknown, possibly either step-mother or sister-in-law, although there are no records to prove or disprove either theory.

John Barber died at the age of 73 on 2 Mar 1879 in Clavass, St Mary's Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland. His son George, was present at death. [4]
