Anthony was born in spring 1903, the fourth son and fourth child of George Barclay and Caroline Cornwall. Mother Caroline died of snakebite when Richard was just one year old. A few years later at age five, he gained a stepmother in his aunt Maud.[1]
Anthony was enumerated a second time in 1911, at a boarding school in Lewes, Sussex, which was run by his mother's cousins, principally Charles William Perfect. He returned from school in England with brother Eric (who had been attending a different school in Cheltenham with brother Hugh), aboard the Missanabie landing in Quebec City in July 1915.[2]
At age 35 in summer 1938, Anthony married 31-year-old English nurse Eileen Homersham at Rayleigh Mount, north of Kamloops, BC.[3]
Anthony George Francis Barclay passed away in winter 1974.[4][5]
