Mrs. Elizabeth Walker, 28, Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Elizabeth Barden Walker, 28, 513 61st St., died at the Isolation hospital Saturday afternoon afer being stricken by bulbar type polio last week. She was the fifth polio fatality this season.

She was born in Kenosha on March 26, 1921, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Barden and received her early education at Kemper Hall where she graduated in 1938. She later attended Smith College at Northampton, Mass., graduating in 1942.

On Feb. 12, 1944, she married G. Thomas Walker, Jr.

She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal church, the Junior Women’s club, and Phi Beta Kappa.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Margaret Elizabeth and Susan, her parents, and a brother, Richard, all of Kenosha.
