Biography

Frances Ann Barden was born in 1859 in Winchelsea, Sussex, England Trayton Trill Barden and Frances (Blackman) Barden. Her birth was registered in Rye, Sussex in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Blackman.^[1]

In 1861 Frances Ann Barden (age 1) lived at 7 Cleveland Square in St Thomas the Apostle Winchelsea with her father Graton (30, Carpenter), mother Frances (25), and two brothers: James (6, Scholar) and Frederick (3, Scholar).^[2]

In 1871 Fanny Barden (age 12, Scholar) lived at Friars Road in Winchelsea with her father Traiton (42, Carpenter), mother Frances (36), and seven siblings: James (17, Ostler), Fredrick (14, Carpenter Son), Ellen (10, Scholar), Elizabeth (8, Scholar), Charles (6, Scholar), Emmer (4), and Jane (2).^[3]

In 1881 Frances A Barden (age 24, Housemaid Domestic) lived at Ketton Hall in Ketton, Rutlandshire in the household of her employer.^[4]

Frances Ann Barden married Charles Henry Rogers in 1883. The marriage was registered in Kensington, London in the third quarter of the year.^[5]

Frances and Charles had three children:

2. Charles Francis Rogers (1886-)
3. Edith Evelyn Rogers (1888-)

In 1891 Frances Rogers (age 31) lived in St Marylebone, London with her daughter Frances M (6) and niece Frances Rogers (7).^[6] Her husband Charles H Rogers (37, Victuallers Assistant) was recorded in the household of his employer in St Marylebone. Frances' other two children - Charley (4) and Edith (2) - were living in Hastings, Sussex with her parents.

Frances Ann Rogers passed away in 1899, aged 40 years. Her death was registered in London City in the last quarter of the year.^[7]
