Biography

Bethiah Benham was baptised in Haslemere, Surrey on 4 August 1833. She was the daughter of James Benham & Mary Booker.^[1]

Bethiah died in 1892, aged 58, at her home in Church Road, Farncombe. She was buried on 9 Apr 1892 in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the unconsecrated section.^[8]

Research Notes

Birth given in 1861 & 1881 census indicates birth place is Lurgashall, Sussex however no relevant baptisms are found there. The Haslemere, Surrey baptism matches the age, father's name from the marriage, surname spelling in the marriage and is close to Lurgashall, Sussex (5.5 miles) so appears likely. FamilySearch has these parents married in Lurgashall, Sussex.^[9]
