Eliza (Barker) Sawyer was born in Yorkshire, England.
Eliza was born in Lofthouse, Yorkshire, England, on December 14, 1892. (Lofthouse is a village between the cities of Wakefield and Leeds). She was the daughter of Francis Barker and Selina Burgoine. Eliza married Joseph Sawyer on May 20, 1916, in Stourton, Yorkshire, at the Church of St Andrew. (Stourton is a mainly industrial area of the city of Leeds. The area falls within the City and Hunslet ward of Leeds). The Banns had been read at St Andrew on April 30, May 7, and 14.
