"Deborah, d. Robert and Alce, Nov. 7, 1686" in Duxbury, Plymouth County, Plymouth Colony.[1][2]

Marriage

The marriage record shows that the “13 day of february 1706/7 prence Houland of duxborow and deborah barker ware Joyned together in marriage before me Joseph Otis Justice of peas” in Duxborough, Plymouth County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[3][4][5][6]

Also, their marriage was recorded from Records of Slaves Granted Freedom, with Births, Marriages, and Deaths in Pembroke, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay.

“Prince Houland of Marshfield now residente in Duxebourgh, Carpenter, son of Arthur Houland of Marshfield aforesaid, & Deborah Barker of Duxborough, daughter of Robert Barker formerly of Duxbourgh afore sd” Married “this thirteenth day of ye twelveth month 1706-7 in the year on thousen seven houndred and six or seven * * at meeting-house in Doxborough.

After her husband died, Mrs. Deborah Howland married second, Benjamin Keen in Pembroke on 15 March 1719/20.[8] With Benjamin, she had four additional children.

Guardianship

In 1713, Deborah was granted guardianship to her children, Prence, Alice, and Robert.[9]

To Deborah Howland Relict Widdow of Prince Howland Late of Marshfield in the County afored Deceased Greeting

Whereas the said Prence Howland having whilest he lived & at the time of his Death Goods Chattels Rights or Credits in the County aforesd Lately Dyed Intestate wherby the Power of granting Administration & full ouposition of all Singular the goods Chattells Rights & Credits of the said deceased [doth appertain crossed out] & also the hearing Examining & allowing the accompts of such Administration doth appertain unto me Trusting Therfore in your- Care & fidelity I do by these presents Comit unto you full Power to Administrater all & singuler the goods Chattels Rights & Credits of the said deceased & well & faithfully to dispose of the same according to Law & also to ask gather- Levy Recover & Receive all & whatsoever Credits of the said deceased which to him whilest he lived & at the time of his death did appertain to Pay all Debts in which the said deceased stood bound so far as his goods Chattels Rights & Credits Can Extend according to the value therof & to make a true & Perfect Inventory of all & singuler the goods Chattels Rights & Credits of the said deceased & to Exhibit the same into the Registry of the Court of Probate afores. at or before the 20th day of March next Ensuing And to Render a Plane & true accompt of his said Administration upon oath at or before the 10th day of June next Ensuing And I do hereby Ordain Constitute & appoint you Administrator of all & singuler the Goods Chattels Rights & Credits aforesd In Testimony wherof I have hereunto set my hand & the seale of the said Court of Probate the Eight day of January Anno Dom 1713

You are hereby Authorized Impowered and Directed to take a veiw and make a Just and equal apprisement according to the best of your Judgment of the housen and lands and Real Estate Prence Howland Late of Marshfield in the County aforesd dyed sezied of lying and being in the County of Pilmoth aforesd and also to set of to Deborah Keen the wife of Benjamin Keen of Pembrook in the County aforesd who was the Widdow of the aforenamed Prence Howland her Dower or third in sd housen and lands by perticuler meet's and bounds as equally as you can so as the same may be assigned and set to her the sd Deborah Keen as the law Directs and make return thereof under your hands and upon your oaths unto my self as soon as convenient by you can: Given under my hand and the seat of the sd court of Probate the seventh day of December Annon Domini 173[0]
