At this time I have no idea of who her parents were. John B. Moreland III proposes in his paper on the Sharp Family that she was born in Powell County. From his paper: Lucinda Barker was born September 13, 1818. According to family history, she was probably born in Powell County, Kentucky. It is said she attended the first church ever built in Clay City, which was the United Methodist Church established in the early 1800’s.
