The Barker family of Plymouth Colony and County by Newhall, Barker; Published 1900
"To this rude pioneer's dwelling Robert Barker brought home his young wife, Lucy Williams ; and here their children—Robert, Francis, Isaac, Abigail, and Rebecca—were born. In 1651, Myles Standish sold a lot of thirty-five acres at Namassakcesett to Robert Barker ; and a year or two later, the Town of Duxbury assigned him lands. A farm was cleared, and on its produce, eked out with fish from the herring brook near by, the family lived and throve."
