Biography

According to the Visitation of Glos. 1684, this William was the grandson of William Barker and Margaret Goldstone by their son John, and brother to the John Barker who married Elizabeth Hill. [1]

Unlikely that he died 30 years before his father. Could this William son of William who died 1591 be the William Barker of Aston who died in 1594, wife Elizabeth and son Richard? Likely the William who was named as half brother in the Will of William Whitmore of Apley Hall in 1593, therefore son of William Barker and Frances, perhaps a second wife? This appears to be what is in Biographical and Genealogical History of the State of Delaware, Volume 1 p 165, though they have Frances' first husband as William Whitmore, rather than Richard as in Burke.
