Sinclair Davidson Barker was born on 27 Sep 1896 in Lincoln, North Carolina, United States[1], son of Thomas Leroy Barker I (1876 - 1949) and Laura Jennie (Settlemyre) Barker (1873 - 1914).

In the 1910 census Clair (age 13), Farm Laborer, was the single son of Thomas L Barker in Catawba Springs, Lincoln, North Carolina, United States.[3]
In the 1920 census Clarence (age 23), Machine Op, was the single lodger of Clinton M Dix in Highland Park, Wayne, Michigan.[4]
Clarence married Sallie Pauline Rich (born in Sampson, North Carolina on 26 Aug 1897, died in Sampson on 21 Jan 1987) on 25 Aug 1921 in Sampson.[5]

In the 1940 census C (age 43), Farmer, was the married head of household in Little Coharie, Sampson, North Carolina.[7]
In the 1950 census C (age 53) was the mar head of household in Little Coharie, Sampson, North Carolina, United States.[8]
Clarence died on 16 Sep 1985 in Sampson aged 88. He is buried in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, Clinton, Sampson County, North Carolina, USA.[9][10][11][12]
Clarence was the son of Thomas L Barker and his wife Laura Jennie Settlemyre who came to Sampson Co in December 1913.
On Aug 25, 1921 he became the husband of Sallie Pauline Rich, daughter of Junius Chester Rich and Eliza Jane Vann. This union was blessed with Junius L, Elsie Honeycutt, Lillian Britt, Clarence Edward, Alton and Charles Barker.
His name was Sinclair Davidson which he changed to Clarence D when he was inducted for World War I.
