Ethel and Tom Barlow were confectioners and owned the bakery on the corner of Bolton Road and Upton Road near Atherton train station, now an Indian restaurant. Weston Street is behind the main road on the opposite side.
Tom Barlow passed away in Atherton in 1961, age 70 (1891).[3]
